Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Role Overview:
We are in search of an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to spearhead medium-scale initiatives, refine production methodologies, and enhance product designs for manufacturability.
This position entails adjusting current products, addressing design and production challenges, and overseeing capital investment projects valued between $100K and $300K.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 6-8 junior engineers and technicians.
- Engage predominantly on the production floor, ensuring hands-on involvement rather than remaining at a desk.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) focusing on materials such as rubber, fabrication, coatings, castings, or machining.
- Expertise in process engineering and optimization.
- Development of production protocols, work instructions, quality assurance matrices, and bills of materials.
- Familiarity with various machinery including lathes, mills, drill presses, press brake machines, and CNC equipment.
- Experience in automation technologies.
- Minimum of 6 years in a manufacturing environment.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing direct reports.
- Excellent problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to train staff and provide comprehensive documentation.
- Analytical skills for cost and return on investment assessments.
Employment Type:
This is a permanent role.
Work Environment:
This position is fully on-site, requiring a significant presence on the production floor. Safety gear such as steel-toe boots and safety glasses is mandatory. The dress code is casual, suitable for a hands-on environment.
