Role Summary:


The Hospital for Special Surgery, recognized as a leader in Orthopedics, is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Full-Time Surgical Coordinator to join our physician office team.

This role will provide essential administrative support to an HSS physician practice, fostering an environment of clinical excellence.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing phone communications and ensuring efficient routing of calls.
  • Scanning and organizing documents within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Performing various administrative tasks as assigned.
Please note that travel may be required for this position.

  • Experience with Epic software is preferred; strong computer proficiency is essential.
  • Understanding of healthcare and health insurance is required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and standard office protocols is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answering telephone calls, directing inquiries, and providing routine information professionally.
  • Regularly checking and responding to voicemail messages.
  • Confirming patient appointments through various communication methods.
  • Scheduling patient appointments and ancillary tests as directed.
  • Creating, scanning, and filing patient records.
  • Organizing medical documentation and patient charts.
  • Preparing patient charts in advance of office hours.
  • Retrieving and filing results and outside notes prior to patient visits.
  • Scanning medical records into patient accounts within the EMR system.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (an Associate's Degree is preferred) along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.

Compensation Range:
Minimum: USD $33.00/Hr.
Maximum: USD $35.00/Hr.
