Role: Patient Services Coordinator, Department of Medicine

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: 9am-5pm

Department: Medicine - Rheumatology

Key Responsibilities:
In this highly-visible role, you will be responsible for managing the daily administrative functions of various physician practices within the Department of Medicine. The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality and efficient patient care.

Specific duties include:
  • Handling and accurately documenting all patient inquiries and triaging calls appropriately;
  • Returning calls on behalf of the physician as necessary;
  • Coordinating patient appointments and completing patient registration as required;
  • Managing the clinical, research, and administrative schedules of physicians;
  • Addressing urgent patient matters as directed by the physician;
  • Overseeing physician/patient correspondence through the hospital's electronic medical record system;
  • Providing administrative support for physician dictation tasks;
  • Compiling and tracking physician expense reports and reimbursement requests;
  • Maintaining office supply inventory and placing orders as needed;
  • Offering backup support to other departmental roles as required;
  • Performing additional administrative tasks as directed by the physician, supervisor, or department leadership.
