Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team as an Offshore Integrity Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of offshore oil production facilities, in accordance with approved plans and industry standards. This is a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Regulatory and industry standard compliance
  • Support the Line Manager in the management of Oceaneering contracts, providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management
  • Develop and maintain structural integrity documentation for each asset
  • Prepare and maintain Structural Inspection Routines (PMRs) based on Structural Inspection Strategies
  • Support the Project Manager in the delivery of Structural Integrity Management Services
  • Provide technical leadership and authority in designated structural engineering discipline
  • Ensure the structural inspections detailed in the strategies are carried out and coordinated with all other activities
  • Input to the production and ongoing management of the asset Annual Inspection Plans and Integrated Field Planning (IFP) compliance for structural activities
  • Develop and issue detailed inspection workpacks/workscopes for structural inspections
  • Review and endorse all Structural Inspection Reports, including 3rd party NDE Reports
  • Carry out first pass assessment of reported defects and report any anomalies
  • Plan structural inspection mission scopes and travel to execute the structural inspection programme
  • Input to the anomaly management process for structural issues
  • Advise the client on any limitations resulting from inspections and alternative solutions for mitigating or resolving problems
  • Contribute to the development and completion of fabric maintenance strategies, programs, and plans
  • Promote the use of specialist technology to resolve unusual/special problems
  • Draft the topside structural inspection Annual Summary Reports
  • Maintain appropriate levels of contact with Asset Teams, 3rd Parties, and internal disciplines to ensure an effective Structural Integrity Management service
  • Attend TAR Meetings, Asset Integrity meetings, and technical practice documentation reviews as required
  • Support the Line Manager in the production of Oceaneering monthly performance management reports (Dashboards)
  • Input into annual reporting as directed by the Line Manager
  • Assist the Line Manager to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service


Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering-related discipline
  • Offshore medical and survival certification
  • Seaman's book
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in relevant civil/structural engineering, including a minimum 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, structural steelwork inspection
  • Familiarity with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDE techniques
  • Ability to generate a team approach to problem-solving and good communication skills, both written and verbal


Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK with the potential for offshore/site visits. The position is predominately considered onshore home-based work, with occasional offshore visits by helicopter/ship to floating structures/fixed platforms for up to 4 weeks at a time. Offshore and onshore work may also involve living, working, and sleeping on oil and gas production facilities with PPE and permit to work restrictions outdoors, over/near water, exposed to all weather conditions or inside exposed to high noise levels, extremely bright or inadequate lighting, cramped workspaces, and getting into awkward positions.
