Position Overview

The EHS Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the facility operates in a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment. This position involves supervising construction and renovation initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and allocate physical resources effectively within the organization.
  • Engage in architectural and engineering planning, including space management and installation oversight.
  • Prepare and assess operational reports and schedules for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Establish departmental goals and deadlines.
  • Oversee environmental, industrial health, and safety programs for semiconductor fabrication operations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies, including procedures for chemical safety, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental safety and liaise with relevant agencies.
  • Assist in evaluating chemicals, activities, and processes to ensure compliance and mitigate EHS impacts.
  • Act as the primary contact for emergency response teams and manage the administration of the workers' compensation program.
  • Analyze performance trends to establish objectives within the EH&S program.
  • Drive positive changes aligned with business objectives across various company locations.
  • Support Fab Operations and product groups in managing change activities, including equipment installation and process safety reviews.
  • Utilize effective communication and escalation methods to inform leadership of all EH&S-related incidents, including injuries and emergency situations, until root causes and corrective actions are identified.
  • Provide governance to ensure accurate systemic root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in common business software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Essential skills include leadership, communication, prioritization, management of personnel, and documentation for small to medium-sized enterprises.

ITAR/EAR Compliance

This position requires lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information, necessitating that candidates meet specific requirements, including U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with fab leadership to foster continuous improvement in EH&S programs.
  • May oversee a safety team operating on a 24/7 shift schedule.
  • Serve in a leadership capacity for safety committee members and engineering and operations departments to ensure effective EH&S program execution.
  • Participate as a site emergency responder.
