Position Summary

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Compliance and Quality Assurance Specialist to contribute to a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.

In this role, you will act as a Compliance Advisor on all aspects related to the security of internal information systems. Your expertise will be crucial in providing management with the necessary insights and tools to ensure adherence to security requirements and enhance the quality of information assurance processes within the organization. You will be responsible for identifying areas of non-compliance with security policies and procedures through continuous monitoring and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing cyber security policies and procedures in alignment with DOE and NNSA requirements.
  • Conducting evaluations of processes and systems to verify compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Validating the results of security control assessments.
  • Engaging in various technical and administrative activities related to Quality Assurance, including scheduling, checklist creation, report writing, and facilitating lessons learned analysis.
  • Analyzing and reporting findings of non-compliance, along with providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintaining plans of action and milestones for addressing non-compliance issues.
  • Tracking unresolved compliance issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Validating that cybersecurity tests and assessments are performed according to established guidelines.
  • Presenting information effectively in both group and individual settings.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship permitted).
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with a solid understanding of current industry technologies and standards for enterprise networks. Relevant experience in information security may substitute for educational requirements.
  • A minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • Possession of relevant certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and security assessment tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Operating Systems, Virtualization, and Networking technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.

Security Clearance

Active Top Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance, or an active DOE "Q" clearance is required.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time on-site position.
