Job Description

Job Summary:

The Compliance Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for participating lenders, realtors, master servicers, and consumers. This role is responsible for directing all aspects of pre-closing compliance review of New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority's various programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and adequately document pre-closing compliance file reviews.
  • Review and interpret documents associated with mortgage lending and underwriting.
  • Develop a working knowledge of New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority's single-family programs.
  • Assist in processing loan amount changes, extensions, and program changes as requested by lenders.
  • Provide technical programmatic support and answer questions from borrowers, lenders, and realtors.
  • Collaborate with the Contract Service Provider to prepare monthly pool reports.
  • Serve as backup to the Assistant Director and assist with preparing and running required month-end reports.
  • Review Partner Program files and prepare them for purchase.
  • Support the Lending Specialist with daily DPA purchases and ensure data has been received and reports given to servicing.
  • Backup for the Lending Coordinator with daily reservations and contact lenders to ensure reservations have been completed.
  • Input income limit and acquisition costs changes for single-family and DPA programs.
  • Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or Finance preferred. Three years of related work experience may be substituted for education. A minimum of four years of mortgage loan processing, mortgage loan underwriting, or mortgage loan closing experience and four years of customer service experience in a high-volume retail/service industry are required.
