Position Summary: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Site Civil Project Manager with extensive experience in Land Development to oversee projects in our Hackettstown, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in Site Engineering and Land Development is required.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Licensure: A valid New Jersey PE License is essential.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Site Engineering and Land Development.
  • A proven track record of at least ten years as a successful Land Development Engineer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective project management and client interaction.
  • Experience in providing expert testimony before municipal Boards to facilitate project approvals.
  • Strong business acumen with a history of cross-selling multi-discipline services.
  • A commitment to fostering a business culture aligned with the values of the organization.
  • A keen understanding of Risk Management practices, with a successful history of mitigating claims and disputes.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities for project extensions and new initiatives.
  • Recognize leads within existing clients to promote additional services offered by FPA.
  • Proactively seek new client leads and collaborate with the Department Manager for follow-up.
  • Attend key trade shows to network with prospective and current clients.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of competitors and inform key executives of significant changes.
  • Assist in client presentations as needed.

Proposal Management Duties:

  • Support the Department Manager in determining project pursuits based on the GO/NO GO Matrix.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies for RFQs, including time budgeting for proposal preparation.
  • Prepare proposals upon request, ensuring alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Recommend qualified sub-consultants for proposal sections as appropriate.
  • Identify client representatives involved in decision-making and follow up to secure projects.
  • Review and analyze unsuccessful proposals with the Department Manager for continuous improvement.
  • Educate clients on contract issues, including unfavorable language and provisions.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Review contracts or proposals prior to project initiation to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Establish a comprehensive project work plan at the outset.
  • Implement a project-specific QA/QC process in line with FPA standards.
  • Define project budgets and schedules, coordinating staffing needs accordingly.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities to assigned staff, ensuring understanding of tasks and timelines.
  • Collaborate with corporate support services to draft sub-consultant contracts.
  • Engage with client Project Managers to keep them informed of project status.
  • Promptly submit requests for change orders as necessary.
  • Regularly assess the quality of work and productivity of team members.
  • Recommend corrective actions to management when needed.
  • Participate in non-project activities aimed at enhancing operational success.

Project Administration Tasks:

  • Monitor job cost data weekly and take immediate corrective actions if required.
  • Initiate project billing in accordance with client requirements, at least monthly.
  • Ensure timely collection of client receivables based on established goals.
  • Maintain project files in compliance with FPA Document Retention Policy.
  • Propose changes to policies and procedures as necessary.
