Position Summary:

We are in search of a highly skilled Site Civil Project Manager with extensive experience in Land Development to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing various projects and ensuring successful execution from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in Site Engineering and Land Development is required.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Licensing: A valid New Jersey PE License is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in Site Engineering and Land Development.
  • Demonstrated history of successful service as a Land Development Engineer for at least ten years.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective project management and client interaction.
  • Experience in providing expert testimony before municipal Boards to facilitate project approvals.
  • Strong business acumen with a successful record of cross-selling multi-disciplinary services.
  • Ability to foster a business culture within the project team that aligns with the company’s values.
  • High awareness of Risk Management practices with a successful history of mitigating claims and disputes.

Business Development:

  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for project extensions and new initiatives.
  • Recognize leads within existing clients to promote services from other departments.
  • Seek new client leads and collaborate with the Department Manager for follow-up.
  • Participate in key trade shows to enhance visibility and engagement with prospective clients.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of competitors and inform key executives of significant changes.
  • Assist in client presentations as needed.

Proposal Management:

  • Support the Department Manager in evaluating project pursuits based on the GO/NO GO Matrix.
  • Contribute to strategies for RFQs, including time budgeting for proposal preparations.
  • Prepare proposals in accordance with established policies, coordinating with Marketing Services and technical teams.
  • Recommend qualified sub-consultants for proposal sections.
  • Identify client representatives involved in decision-making and follow up to secure projects.
  • Review and analyze unsuccessful proposals with the Department Manager for improvement.
  • Educate clients on contract issues and potential undesirable provisions.

Operations:

  • Review contracts or proposals prior to project initiation, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Establish a comprehensive project work plan before commencement.
  • Implement a project-specific QA/QC process aligned with company standards.
  • Set project budgets and schedules, coordinating staffing needs accordingly.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities to assigned staff, outlining phases, tasks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with corporate support services to prepare sub-consultant contracts.
  • Engage with client Project Managers to keep them informed of project progress.
  • Promptly submit requests for change orders as necessary.
  • Regularly assess the quality of work and productivity of team members.
  • Recommend corrective actions to management when needed.
  • Participate in departmental or corporate initiatives aimed at enhancing operational success.

Project Administration:

  • Review job cost data weekly and take immediate corrective actions if necessary.
  • Initiate billing processes on a schedule that meets client requirements.
  • Ensure timely collection of client receivables based on established goals.
  • Maintain project files in accordance with company Document Retention Policy.
  • Propose changes to policies and procedures as needed.
