Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective implementation of each youth's Individual Treatment Plan (ITP).
  • Oversee the active involvement of Youth Care Workers in achieving educational, employment, and treatment objectives.
  • Monitor all program communications, including log entries, incident reports, and correspondence with supervisors, families, and external organizations.
  • Provide supervision for staff, youth, and the environment (milieu/grounds), ensuring adequate 24-hour program coverage.

In this Role, you will:

  • Support and uphold the policies and philosophy of the Agency and program.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development through training.
  • Participate in supervision meetings with your supervisor.
  • Train new Youth Care Staff and ensure compliance with HR-required training and documentation.
  • Provide weekly supervision to Youth Care Workers, offering support and feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and applying progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Ensure team members are trained in and effectively applying the principles of the Mercy Model in their interactions with youth and families.
  • Learn and implement the treatment philosophies and practices of the Agency.
  • Advise on the use of de-escalation and behavior management techniques as per CPI protocol.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the Youth Program.
  • Ensure Youth Care coverage for all shifts and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling as needed.
  • Hold staff accountable for their responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential setting with demonstrated competence in the Mercy Model of Care and program leadership.
  • Master's Degree preferred in psychology, social work, sociology, or a related Human Services field as determined by DCFS rule 401.
  • Experience in a residential or high-energy work environment with youth and staff.
  • Availability to work two to three nights per week, until at least 9:00 p.m. or 9:30 p.m., based on program needs.
  • On-call availability (shared responsibility with Program Manager) to support program requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Experience in residential treatment settings.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clear driving record.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with respect for diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while exercising judgment and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Commitment to attending required Agency trainings and maintaining compliance.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a schedule that includes Monday to Friday, requiring flexibility to meet program needs.
