Established in 1924, we proudly serve over 8,500 young people and positively impact the lives of more than 14,000 individuals, including parents, educators, and community members.
Role Summary:
The Educational Program Facilitator will oversee and implement engaging programming for students enrolled in before and after-school initiatives. This role includes collaborating with the Community Resource Coordinator to enhance program visibility and fulfill assigned responsibilities.
Working Hours:
Academic Instructors: Tuesday and Wednesday, 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM. Enrichment Instructors: Monday and Thursday, 2:45 PM - 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students participating in before and after-school programs, promoting the core values of Youth Guidance.
- Uphold behavioral standards for students in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate on the creation and execution of before and after-school programs, including curriculum design and lesson planning.
- Assist students of diverse abilities with homework and academic tasks.
- Ensure safe transportation of students to and from programs, adhering to established protocols.
- Distribute program information and materials to promote various enrichment opportunities.
- Support the administration of the regular school day.
- Facilitate communication and provide assistance to families and stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts involving children, parents, and families.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree or progress towards a degree is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Understanding of the policies and organizational structure of the Chicago Public Schools.
- Proactive approach to project management, ensuring timely completion aligned with the Resource Coordinator's vision.
- Flexibility in adapting to program assignments and modifying projects as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in conflict resolution techniques.
