Position Overview

Annual Compensation: $45,000

This initiative aims to support educational institutions by fostering a secure and nurturing atmosphere. The primary goal is to mitigate and avert violence within the school environment, enhance the learning experience, address trauma's effects, and cultivate resilience among students, educators, administrative staff, and families.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct educational and intervention services focused on prevention for at-risk youth.
  • Collaborate with educators to apply effective classroom management techniques.
  • Engage in strategic planning for school safety, providing insights on violence prevention educational strategies.
  • Facilitate ongoing training sessions for school leadership, faculty, and staff to promote the Trauma-Informed Resilience-Oriented School toolkit.
  • Offer technical support and training to school staff, parents, and community stakeholders involved in prevention initiatives.
  • Organize and lead parent engagement activities as outlined in the strategic plan, in partnership with school leadership.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments in line with funding requirements.
  • Curate and evaluate educational resources and materials for program implementation.
  • Execute additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community service programs, group facilitation, public speaking, and prevention strategies.
  • Educational background or training in prevention methodologies, youth development, substance abuse, or case management.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse populations served.
  • Knowledge of principles and strategies for developing comprehensive programs for high-risk individuals.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with youth and families.
  • Commitment to supporting youth and families impacted by mental health and substance abuse challenges.
