About Youth Guidance:
Founded in 1924, Youth Guidance is a prominent provider of impactful programs that serve over 8,500 youth, positively influencing the lives of more than 14,000 individuals, including parents, educators, and community members. We believe that every young person can thrive when supported by caring adults.
Role Summary: The Community Resource Manager is tasked with overseeing and enhancing before and after school programs, as well as seasonal camps. This role involves recruiting participants, coordinating age-appropriate activities, and supervising staff. Additionally, the manager will maintain precise financial and attendance records, collaborate with community organizations to provide relevant services, and promote program growth and sustainability. Building strong relationships with school administrators and staff is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise program staff, ensuring effective communication and monitoring of attendance.
- Design and implement a multi-age after school program that is developmentally appropriate.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive program schedule that reflects efficient management.
- Develop conflict resolution strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Manage a budget that includes grant and tuition-based funding, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
- Maintain ongoing positive communication with parents and guardians.
- Coordinate and oversee various programs and activities.
- Keep accurate records of enrollment and attendance.
- Procure necessary materials and supplies.
- Maintain thorough accounting records and statistics.
- Recruit high-quality partners that align with the organization’s mission.
- Develop a marketing strategy that supports organizational growth.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent of sixty college credit hours required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a non-profit, social service, or community development setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- 1-2 years of experience working with youth in elementary or high school settings.
- Ability to understand and navigate the policies and structure of educational institutions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in record-keeping and report preparation.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional local and national travel.
