Position Overview

The Programs Supervisor will oversee Alternatives' behavioral health and restorative justice initiatives in Waukegan. This role requires a seasoned professional with a background in team management, youth development programming, and quality assurance within behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities:

In alignment with principles of racial, gender, sexuality, and ability equity, the Programs Supervisor will:
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and train team members, ensuring ongoing support and evaluation based on identified needs.
  • Manage the review, initiation, and closure of therapist case files across various departmental contracts.
  • Oversee relevant contracts, including staff supervision, agency outreach, training, and comprehensive report writing for program marketing.
  • Foster internal collaboration between the Behavioral Health and Restorative Justice Teams assigned to Waukegan.
  • Stay informed on best practices in behavioral health, trauma-informed care, youth development, and restorative justice.
  • Develop and maintain strategic external partnerships and relationships.
  • Contribute as a member of the leadership team and participate in additional working groups as needed.
  • Engage actively in departmental and agency meetings.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Strategy and the Director of Finance in monitoring program effectiveness and budget adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  1. Clinical License required (LCPC, LCSW).
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical supervision, program management, and related social service practices.
  3. Proven success in evaluating services and implementing innovative programs.
  4. Proficient in utilizing technology as a management reporting tool.
  5. Strong project management capabilities in complex program environments.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Experience in team management, fostering professional growth and responsibility.
  8. Commitment to continuous learning within frameworks of Anti-oppression, Positive Youth Development, Trauma-informed care, and Balanced and Restorative Justice.
  9. Skilled in engaging with high-risk youth involved in juvenile justice and child welfare systems.
  10. Compliance with COVID vaccination requirements as mandated by applicable law.
