Rate of Pay:
$ per hour
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver prompt and courteous service to both internal and external clients
- Acquire a thorough understanding of the hotel's services and facilities
- Assist in qualifying leads, researching availability, entering bookings in Opera Sales and Event Management, and responding to clients directly or by directing them to the appropriate sales personnel
- Prepare contracts and proposals
- Track leads for responses and due dates
- Prepare deposit invoices and monitor deposits received from clients
- Verify group commissions and prepare requests for commission payments
- Support Sales Managers in conducting site inspections of the hotel
- Maintain and order current printed sales and promotional materials and office supplies
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure the distribution of essential information
- Prepare and distribute routine reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Attend all sales meetings
- Obtain and record group histories
- Provide administrative support as required by Sales Managers and the Director of Group Sales
- Ensure regular coverage of the Sales Office phone
- Assist with the preparation and follow-up of sales trips, including expense reporting
- Support Sales Managers in their absence
- Maintain an organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School Diploma; Business School and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous experience in the hospitality or travel industry is an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Friendly and outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- A desire to pursue a career in hospitality sales and marketing is preferred
