BAS Design Engineer

Location: United States

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000

As a BAS Design Engineer at Edison Smart®, you will play a crucial role in the execution of diverse projects spanning various industries such as life sciences, data centers, commercial enterprises, and educational institutions.

This role involves contributing to the operational efficiency of the department. The individual in this position will be expected to undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required.

  • Design and develop building automation systems tailored for large commercial office spaces, data centers, and educational facilities.
  • Engage in project meetings to gather essential project information.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure the compatibility and feasibility of all equipment.
  • Work alongside other Design Engineers to provide recommended specifications.
  • Compile a comprehensive engineering package that includes all necessary network diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, flow diagrams, valve and damper schedules, bill of materials, and equipment submissions for client approval and subsequent delivery to the installation team.
  • Offer technical assistance to the sales team.
  • Promote employee engagement within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Solid understanding of industrial HVAC applications, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and/or Lon, to create system network diagrams and facilitate integration with third-party equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD or other BIM software is also advantageous.
