As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to support a significant software development initiative. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaboration: Partnering with software development and IT operations teams to ensure that our development tools and infrastructure align with organizational objectives.
  • Deployment Automation: Streamlining the deployment process to guarantee that code can be deployed efficiently and reliably across various environments, including both virtualized and containerized settings.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Utilizing tools such as Ansible to manage software deployment and the underlying development infrastructure.
  • Best Practices: Establishing and adhering to best practices for source control, versioning, testing, and deployment of IaC scripts and tools.
  • Containerization Expertise: Employing containerization technologies, including Docker and VMware Tanzu, with a comprehensive understanding of container management.
  • Documentation: Ensuring thorough documentation and knowledge sharing among team members to uphold best practices and foster innovation.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Overseeing containerization initiatives, identifying issues, and discovering opportunities to enhance system performance, stability, and security.
Key Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a background or degree in Computer Science or IT Administration.
  • Possession of a current Security+ certification is highly desirable, along with other certifications such as Linux+ and Network+.
  • Strong proficiency in DevOps methodologies and tools, with a solid grasp of Agile best practices, including the software development lifecycle, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment.
  • Extensive experience with Ansible for configuration management, package management, and software deployment across diverse platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in containerization at various levels, including individual containers (Docker), container repositories, and orchestration tools (Tanzu).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging and documentation to suit different audiences.
