Position Summary
The Project Controls Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager by overseeing the planning, financial management, and successful execution of assigned projects. This position is essential for ensuring client satisfaction and achieving financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project activities and implement project control measures.
  • Conduct monthly forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Manage cost control processes, including budget tracking and actual expenditures.
  • Analyze job costs and identify variances.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management techniques for project performance assessment.
  • Oversee project scheduling and timeline management.
  • Facilitate weekly project coordination meetings and document outcomes.
  • Generate and distribute Monthly Project Status Reports (PSR).
  • Analyze job cost reports and manage financial documentation.
  • Verify subcontractor payment applications and manage back-charges.
  • Administer contracts and manage warranty reviews.
  • Conduct risk register cost analysis and manage change orders.
  • Prepare and negotiate prime contract payment applications as necessary.
  • Document formal notices to stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering/construction sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized with a structured approach to project management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore Project Management systems.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools, particularly Primavera P6 (preferred).
  • Familiarity with document control processes.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate as needed.

Preferred qualifications include experience managing projects exceeding $50 million, familiarity with Sage 300CRE and Procore, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
