Job Overview

B.L. Harbert International is seeking a Construction Project Controls Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the effective management of project schedules and critical paths. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and suppliers to refine execution schedules and monitor progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update project schedules and reports as required by contractual obligations.
  • Create short-term look-ahead schedules for field teams and subcontractors.
  • Document and communicate actual performance metrics and forecast project completion based on current progress.
  • Assess potential time impacts due to changes or unforeseen conditions in the field.
  • Maintain procurement logs to facilitate effective material planning and execution.
  • Support project management in analyzing cost implications and time challenges related to requests for proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and sustain a security clearance through the US Government.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling and planning construction projects.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling and planning with Primavera P6.
  • Experience with Department of Defense or Department of State projects.
  • Familiarity with USACE or OBO projects in international settings.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must:

  • Be capable of repetitive hand movements and reaching overhead.
  • Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, and perform various physical activities for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Possess the dexterity to operate construction tools and equipment.
  • Maintain focus and concentration in a busy office setting.

Work Environment:

This position requires:

  • Ability to work in an office environment and on construction sites as necessary.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and mechanical hazards.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet project demands.
