Job Overview

540 is seeking a Technical Project Manager to spearhead the delivery of a rapid software prototype for a government client. We are in search of an innovative individual with a robust technical background to collaborate closely with our Technical Lead on an Agile Scrum team. This role involves supporting the development of a data-driven platform that aggregates information from multiple sources and presents it on a senior leadership dashboard.

At 540, our Project Managers are referred to as Project Anchors. They hold the ultimate responsibility for the project's success as defined at the project's initiation. Your role will encompass planning, leading, organizing, and inspiring the team to achieve exceptional performance and quality, while ensuring client satisfaction. You will work in tandem with the Technical Lead and Product Owner to create the project and product roadmap, ensuring alignment between requirements and deliverables. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, data custodians, technical developers, and business analysts is essential, making strong technical and business communication skills critical.

Location: Remote work is supported, with occasional onsite meetings.
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: DoD Secret clearance is preferred or must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a DoD Secret clearance.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in IT-related roles.
  • Experience managing government IT contracts.
  • Exceptional client resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with shifting priorities.
  • Experience managing traditional waterfall projects using PMI methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar tools.
  • Experience collaborating with technical leads to translate business needs into innovative solutions.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and briefings to diverse client and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of business needs to foster customer trust and confidence.
  • Deep knowledge of relational databases.
  • General understanding of report-building logic.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • PMP Certification.
  • Agile Certification.
  • Experience with Atlassian's Suite, such as Jira, for Agile project management.
  • Experience delivering software solutions for Federal agencies, particularly DoD.
  • Understanding of security, accessibility, and technical policies.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools like Qlik Sense or Oracle OBIEE.
  • Knowledge of big data architectures, cloud computing, Databricks, Python, SQL, and ADVANA.
  • Understanding of federal contracting processes, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations System.
