Role Summary: The Senior Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting field operations, primarily collaborating with the Project Manager to oversee project administration across multiple small projects or a single medium to large-scale project. This position may also entail supervisory duties for various support functions including Document Control, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Project Scheduling, and Cost Control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Support: Assist the Project Manager in managing project costs and schedules.
  • Prepare and approve monthly billing and earned value reports.
  • Develop and manage critical path project schedules for medium to large projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Analyze project targets, goals, and job cost summaries.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to optimize project resources.
  • Review and negotiate change orders, tracking their status.
  • Oversee the procurement process, providing recommendations to the Project Manager.
  • Authorize field purchase orders for standard packages.
  • Evaluate project financial performance and engage in financial reviews.

Quality and Safety Oversight:

  • Support project engineering and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and risk management practices.
  • Supervise the work of direct reports.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training and certification programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Primavera and Timberline.
  • Ability to customize and manipulate spreadsheets effectively.
  • Physical capability to navigate job site terrains and perform necessary tasks.
