Position: Lead Mechanical and Fire Protection Engineer
Location: On-site
Type: Full Time/Contractor
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Summary: Serve as the lead designer for fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects. Provide comprehensive design solutions for fire protection systems, including wet and dry pipe systems, as well as mechanical design for HVAC and plumbing systems, encompassing load calculations, equipment specifications, and layout designs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a product team
  • Ability to pass government background checks and security screenings
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive design solutions related to fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing requirements.
  • Conduct field verifications of existing site conditions to gather information regarding engineering design challenges.
  • Provide detailed specifications and cost estimates for materials and labor, ensuring compliance with applicable codes for various construction projects.
  • Collaborate with Technical Managers in Engineering Design to ensure project completion, integration, and adherence to work order requirements.
  • Review technical criteria related to project scope to ensure the final project meets performance expectations. Evaluate review comments to confirm compliance with project scope and technical standards.
  • Initiate and coordinate solutions for significant technical and engineering challenges within projects.
  • Produce design documentation including plans, specifications, and estimates necessary for successful project execution.
  • Ensure design outputs comply with relevant safety regulations and building codes.
  • Act as the primary contract lead, serving as the onsite point of contact for clients and IBEX contract personnel.
  • Prepare for and participate in client and corporate meetings to provide updates on project status, progress, and any arising issues or opportunities.
  • Train and support IBEX contract staff as necessary to meet contract deliverables and performance standards.
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting information to IBEX Corporate Project Management.
  • Complete any required ongoing training as necessary.
  • Travel as needed between project sites.
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office setting and may require outdoor work and site visits.
