Position Overview:
As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing design for new constructions and renovations. Your expertise will be crucial for the Directorate of Public Works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive design solutions related to fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct field verifications to gather information on existing site conditions.
  • Provide specifications and cost estimates for materials and labor, ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
  • Collaborate with Technical Managers to ensure project completion and integration.
  • Review project scope and technical criteria to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Initiate and coordinate solutions for significant technical challenges.
  • Produce detailed design documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Act as the contract lead and primary point of contact for clients.
  • Participate in meetings to report on project status and address any issues.
  • Support and train contract staff to meet performance requirements.
  • Travel as necessary between designated locations.

Work Environment:
This role operates primarily in a professional office setting, with occasional outdoor and construction site visits.

Physical Demands:
The role may require standing, walking, sitting, and lifting office supplies up to 20 pounds.
