Position Overview
This role involves serving as a fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing designer for new construction and renovation projects. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive design products related to fire protection systems, HVAC, and plumbing systems, including load calculations and equipment layouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver complete and executable design products for fire, mechanical, and plumbing needs.
  • Field-verify existing site conditions to gather information on engineering design challenges.
  • Provide specifications and cost estimates for materials and labor, ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with Technical Managers to ensure project integration and completion.
  • Review technical criteria to confirm project performance meets intended goals.
  • Initiate and coordinate solutions for significant technical and engineering challenges.
  • Produce design documentation, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Ensure design products adhere to safety regulations and building codes.
  • Act as the contract lead and primary point of contact for clients and contract staff.
  • Prepare for and participate in client and corporate meetings to report on project status and progress.
  • Train and assist contract staff to meet performance requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to corporate project management.
  • Complete ongoing training as required.
  • Travel as necessary between project sites.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office setting and may require outdoor visits to construction sites.

Physical Demands
The physical demands for this role include standing, walking, sitting, using hands for tasks, reaching, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
