Job Overview
We are in search of a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, adhering to applicable laws and regulations, and providing exceptional support to our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all personnel, including the calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
- Maintain precise payroll records and ensure that all employee data is current.
- Review and validate time sheets, work logs, and other documents to guarantee accurate compensation.
- Address and resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
- Prepare and disseminate payroll reports and summaries for management review.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations and best practices.
- Assist with year-end reporting and audits.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to enhance payroll processes and practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- 1-5 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in payroll software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with care.
- Familiarity with payroll laws and regulations is advantageous.
