We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Account Manager to contribute to the Microsoft Federal team.

The Microsoft Federal division was created to meet the distinct mission, legal, regulatory requirements, and procurement processes of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal is dedicated to ensuring that its resources—including qualified, experienced, and certified personnel with necessary security clearances—are available to address the evolving needs of the USG. As part of this commitment, Microsoft adopts a flexible approach to recruiting, hiring, and assigning personnel within Microsoft Federal, allowing for diverse roles throughout their careers to adapt to the changing demands of the USG across various segments, including Civilian, Defense, and the Intelligence Community.
Essential Qualifications
- 13+ years of experience in relevant industries (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or leading digital transformation initiatives.
- OR a Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in relevant industries and/or driving digital transformation.
- OR a Master's Degree with 9+ years of experience in relevant industries and/or driving digital transformation.
- 6+ years of experience in providing recommendations to and collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
- 8+ years of experience in closing large, complex agreements.
- Experience engaging with mission owners/operators within the Intelligence Community.
Additional Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Compliance with Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is mandatory for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the necessary U.S. Government clearance may lead to employment actions, including termination.
Verification Requirements
- This position necessitates successful verification of the stated security clearance to fulfill federal government customer requirements.
- Cloud Screening: This role requires passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship Verification: Due to legal restrictions, this position requires verification of U.S. citizenship, supporting United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in driving digital transformation within the Intelligence Community.
- Experience working with the operational side of the Intelligence Community.
Compensation Overview
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 annually, with variations applicable to specific work locations.
Role Responsibilities
Account Strategic Programs Management
• Develops and implements strategies to achieve sales objectives for assigned customers, ensuring alignment with Microsoft and partner sales goals, generating qualified pipeline, and creating high-value revenue opportunities.
- Leads the execution of strategies for assigned accounts, ensuring high-volume sales engagements and driving revenue growth.
- Expands strategic networks of key internal and external partners to enhance account management experiences.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to develop tailored account plans that drive sales and partner impact.
- Solicits feedback to identify additional customer needs and opportunities for growth.
Strategic Thinking
• Cultivates relationships with mission customers and industry leaders to shape strategic direction and business metrics.
Customer and Partner Engagement
• Builds relationships throughout multiple levels of the customer's organization to align on long-term goals and secure buy-in.
Demonstrates differentiated value for the customer, leveraging industry experience to guide internal teams in developing deeper customer insights.
