Position Overview
As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Senior Buyer / Planner to join our manufacturing team in Irvine. This role is onsite and reports directly to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Buyer / Planner is essential in managing the procurement and planning of both direct and indirect materials while ensuring optimal inventory levels. Key responsibilities include:

  • Meeting customer demands through timely product delivery and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and executing procurement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels aligned with production schedules.
  • Implementing cost control measures through accurate demand forecasting to minimize inventory holding costs and streamline operations.
  • Supporting new product development and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Enhancing production efficiency by optimizing processes and reducing waste.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams for effective manufacturing planning and scheduling.
  • Driving continuous improvement by monitoring production performance and identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities.
  • Evaluating raw materials to ensure readiness for production.
  • Reporting production status and addressing any issues to upper management.
  • Managing production disruptions and productivity challenges.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proposing and leading supply chain optimization projects.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement and planning within a manufacturing context, preferably in the medical device sector.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with a preference for NetSuite.
  • Advanced planning capabilities and expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including data extraction and high-level reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management practices, including forecasting, planning, and reconciliation.
  • Experience in contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance within a regulated environment (ISO13485).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 annually.
