About the Role:

The Production and Procurement division is pivotal in managing demand and supply planning, overseeing inventory control, and executing procurement operations. This team collaborates closely with international supply chain partners, manufacturing associates, and component vendors to ensure that orders align with company standards.

The Senior Buyer/Planner will engage with manufacturing partners and suppliers to facilitate purchase order placements, monitor outstanding orders, and expedite processes as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate purchase orders for raw materials and finished products in accordance with forecasts and production timelines.
  • Track the status of active purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery of all required materials.
  • Adjust order priorities based on changes in schedules or inventory levels.
  • Solicit quotes from suppliers, assess their responses, and recommend optimal choices considering cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage material flows during product changes, discontinuations, and the onboarding of new suppliers or materials linked to product development.
  • Address issues related to purchase orders and invoices, including returns and quality concerns with suppliers.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and collaborate with finance for supplier payments.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Provide support for shipping, receiving, warehousing, and other assigned tasks.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at cost reduction and inventory optimization.
  • Generate and maintain relevant reports as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of new tools and systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in procurement for New Product Development and/or Contract Manufacturing.
  • Background in purchasing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Experience collaborating with Asian-based manufacturing partners in procurement and inventory management is essential.
  • Prior experience in a startup environment is advantageous.
  • Strong sense of urgency and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in data entry and MS Office applications.
