About the Role:

Motion Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our client's dynamic team in Silver Spring, MD. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Analyze large, diverse datasets to extract actionable insights and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new methodologies, technologies, and approaches to enhance data science capabilities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the data science team, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) working as a data scientist, with a focus on machine learning, predictive modeling, and data analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, as well as libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Previous history of working in a startup or small company/team environment.
  • Previous experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
