Job Description:

The Role:

Entegris is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor - Operations Manager to join our team in Hillsboro, Oregon. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that production requirements are met while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

This role will involve supervising a team of operators, coordinating scheduling and workflow, and providing guidance and training to ensure that work instructions are followed. You will also be responsible for instilling a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability within the team.

Primary hours for this position are based on a compressed work week schedule, with the expectation that the incumbent may need to flex their dedicated schedule to ensure visibility and attention to shifts that work nights and weekends. All three modules work 12-hour shifts, and our operations run 24x7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work practices and work with EHS to train and elevate the culture of safety within the team.
  • Monitor work area and employees' performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness expectations, and all potential hazards.
  • Ensure staff training is provided for effective performance, address issues with staff, and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and applicable budget requirements.
  • Conduct timely corrective actions and employee performance reviews.
  • Communicate effectively to the team regarding goals and expectations, as well as with other supervisors, engineers, and management to ensure operations are one cohesive unit.
  • Ensure expected output of quality products is achieved, assist in investigating and evaluating quality defects, and determine appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Promote the use of Lean/Sigma Manufacturing concepts, including SPC, Kanban materials management, and 6s.
  • Use PDCA, visual management, meeting customer demands through schedule attainment, and daily improvements to monitor and adjust production requirements and resources to ensure on-time shipment.
  • Monitor production hour-by-hour performance and escalate issues.
  • Implement and monitor continuous quality improvement activities, including waste and cost reduction, equipment, and tool efficiencies.
  • Provide daily work direction to team members and act as the first point of contact regarding any issues that may arise on shift.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A functional understanding of your specific production module and a good understanding of all other modules within production.
  • Ability to work modified shift hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Good organizational and planning skills, communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the workforce, work environment, and customer needs.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience leading a team.
  • Drives employee development, accountability, and engagement.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and write in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with six sigma methodologies.
