Job Overview

Position Title: Production Manager

Classification: Exempt

Role Summary: The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in the operational success of our manufacturing division. This position is crucial for ensuring that all production processes are executed efficiently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all facets of production operations.
  • Implement strategic planning to enhance production efficiency.
  • Foster positive relationships with production staff to promote teamwork.
  • Exhibit strong communication and analytical skills to drive operational success.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to service excellence.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Assist in the recruitment and training of team leaders.
  • Coordinate and supervise the workflow and schedules of production leads.
  • Conduct performance assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage employee discipline and terminations in alignment with company policies.

Core Functions:

  • Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations for all production personnel.
  • Guide production leads to ensure compliance with schedules and quality standards.
  • Enhance utilization and efficiency of production resources.
  • Collaborate with engineering to establish and maintain cost and time benchmarks for projects.
  • Drive production efforts to meet established timelines.
  • Work with scheduling teams to create and adhere to production timelines.
  • Partner with the quality department to address product-related challenges and uphold quality performance objectives.
  • Advise management on improvements in processes, staffing, equipment, and facilities to support growth.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure timely completion and report issues as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to help the organization achieve its objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Proficient in interpreting written English work instructions.
  • Advanced skills in report generation and analysis using Excel.
  • Effective communication skills are essential, as this role interacts with executive management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production management within the electronics assembly sector.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
