Position Summary

The Director of Institutional Partnerships will spearhead the development and management of a strategic fundraising plan aimed at securing support from corporations, foundations, and governmental entities. This position entails executing significant fundraising initiatives, nurturing existing partnerships, and forging new connections across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Funder Portfolio Management

  • Oversee a portfolio of 50-75 active funders, crafting strategies, scheduling meetings, preparing proposals, and managing donor impact reports.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to meet organizational goals.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise the Institutional Partnerships team to ensure alignment with revenue objectives.
  • Assist in setting goals and revenue forecasts for the partnerships portfolio.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage the departmental budget, collaborating with leadership to prepare annual revenue projections and reports.

Event Management

  • Coordinate special events, including third-party fundraising initiatives and signature galas.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including boards and community leaders.
  • Represent the organization at donor meetings and community events throughout the year.
  • Facilitate corporate volunteerism and in-kind donations in partnership with relevant teams.

Grant Management

  • Oversee the application process for government grants, including research, application preparation, and timeline management.
  • Identify new funding sources and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Donor Relations

  • Support donor engagement and documentation through management systems, ensuring accurate records of interactions.

General Support

  • Provide assistance to the Chief Development Officer as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in proposal writing and presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and relational databases.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and foundation giving practices.
  • Experience in event fundraising and logistics.
  • Exceptional professionalism and ability to work collaboratively.
