Role Purpose

The Analyst plays a crucial role in assisting the investment team with research, monitoring, trading, and the execution of investment strategies. This position involves a blend of macroeconomic analysis, market research, and manager evaluations, serving as a generalist investment analyst while also providing trade support and implementation for our private funds.

The ideal candidate will excel in managing various tasks and deadlines, with a strong enthusiasm for learning about financial markets and investment practices. Over time, this individual will progress to a senior analyst role, significantly contributing to the investment strategy and manager evaluation processes.

This position offers substantial visibility within the organization, providing exposure to leading investment managers in the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a portfolio of active investments across diverse asset classes and strategies, acting as the primary liaison with those managers. The complexity of strategies will evolve with experience and proficiency.
  • Serve as the main support to the Head of Trading for daily trading operations.
  • Conduct thorough market and manager assessments for potential investments or terminations under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Engage in meetings with investment managers and prepare detailed notes.
  • Compile materials and actively participate in Investment Team, Committee, and Strategy meetings.
  • Create memos and presentations, along with other communications to support the firm's investment initiatives and client advisor relationships.
  • Provide operational support for private funds, including managing capital flows, investment subscriptions/redemptions, and various projects as needed.
Additional Duties
  • Perform data entry, management, and reporting of investment indices and manager performance metrics on a daily and bi-weekly basis.
  • Maintain approved manager exposure and attribution data, conducting actionable analyses.
  • Continuously monitor and identify performance drivers, risks, and relevant news concerning covered managers and their strategies.
  • Understand the investment processes, operations, and structures of investment managers.
  • Utilize proprietary research tools to facilitate ongoing qualitative and quantitative due diligence on various investment strategies.
  • Build relationships with industry contacts to enhance due diligence on both existing and prospective investment opportunities.
  • Source and evaluate potential new investment avenues.
  • Regularly communicate with the client service team to provide updates on portfolio investments ahead of client meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance or investment analysis.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, economics, and the investment sector.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Process-oriented and proactive with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg, Orion/Eclipse, Pitchbook, and YCharts is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a significant portion of the time.
