Job Description

The Financial System Analyst works closely with Reimbursement & Reconciliation Manager, Supervisor, and other Finance Departments to support daily operations and analytical needs. The Analyst will use system applications for tracking, analyzing, and developing reports corresponding to departmental need. This role develops a deep understanding of the supported business process by building strong relationships with stakeholders and delivering value while working with complex data sets to investigate key business trends, performance issues, and behaviors.

Qualifications

  • Documents processes to better support business operations.
  • Develops Operational Dashboards to support Revenue Cycle Operations in Aging AR, Trending Payor Issues, Posting, and Collections using appropriate BI tools.
  • Identify payor trends and communicating them back to the team/leadership.
  • Completing claims worklists assigned by Reimbursement Supervisor.
  • Run reports for distribution to the manager or Supervisor as needed to communicate data of interest, work performed, or ad hoc.
  • Bi-monthly reporting of dashboard status to Reimbursement Supervisor via Excel spreadsheet or other template to include aged since last touch balances and error reasons.
  • Work with internal departments to collect data to develop and implement strategies.
  • Field staff questions and complaints as well as insurance needs on behalf of assigned providers and specialties.
  • Review allowances and analyze potential issues causing 0 allowances to be posted on accounts
  • Illustrate excellent knowledge of healthcare industry regarding the revenue cycle, coding, claims, and state insurance laws.
  • Assist in researching reimbursement issues relevant to benefits/eligibility.
  • Complete KPI reports as requested by Management.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely follow up on accounts receivables.
  • Ability to break down problems in workable pieces; seek guidance and propose solutions.
  • Train new team members on Payor contracts and processes.
  • Turn over delinquent accounts to third party collection agency.
  • Perform monthly Q&A on team accounts or workflow actions, accuracy and detail.
