Position Overview

The AML Compliance Risk Analyst will play a crucial role in executing comprehensive risk evaluations across the organization, focusing on Fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and sanctions compliance (OFAC). This position aims to pinpoint inherent risks and assess the effectiveness of internal controls to formulate a residual risk profile. The findings from these evaluations will inform monitoring strategies, control improvements, and resource distribution as new risks emerge.

Key Responsibilities

Key duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting thorough enterprise-wide AML Risk Evaluations, including AML and OFAC assessments. This includes the development and enhancement of risk assessment methodologies, planning annual evaluations, executing assessments, documenting findings, ensuring timely correction of identified deficiencies, and reporting results to senior leadership.
  • Collaborating with regulatory bodies and both internal and external auditors to convey the methodology and outcomes of the Financial Crimes risk evaluation program.
  • Working closely with various business units to analyze processes and controls, identifying and assessing inherent risks, control effectiveness, and compliance opportunities related to AML, OFAC, and Fraud.
  • Serving as a liaison with business units, providing subject matter expertise in the formulation of internal controls.
  • Creating ongoing reports and risk dashboards that highlight changes in the bank's risk profile concerning AML, Fraud, or OFAC.
  • Monitoring and communicating key risk metrics, Key Risk Indicators, and Key Performance Indicators to management and relevant governance committees.
  • Evaluating new products, services, markets, or regions for additional risks and communicating these risks to management while collaborating with business units to identify mitigating controls.
  • Assisting in recognizing trends that may indicate potential risk or compliance issues, advising on tools and solutions for effective risk management and compliance, and maintaining comprehensive records and reports of related activities.
  • Keeping abreast of internal controls, best practices in risk management, fraud prevention techniques, AML typologies, and sanctions compliance requirements, along with other relevant state and federal laws and regulations within the financial crime domain.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Strong understanding of Fraud schemes, trends, and prevention strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Confidence and capability to identify potential issues and solutions, collaborating with all management levels to address these concerns.
  • Ability to engage with various business units to ensure effective implementation of AML, Fraud, and OFAC policies.
  • Capacity to provide guidance and training to employees at all levels regarding financial crime-related matters.
  • Ability to interact knowledgeably with inquiries from law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting Fraud, AML, or OFAC Risk Evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACAMS and CFE Certifications.
