Role Mission
The Investment Research Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the investment team through research, monitoring, trading, and strategy execution. This position encompasses a blend of macroeconomic analysis, market research, and investment manager evaluation, alongside trade support and implementation processes for our private investment funds.


The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple projects and deadlines while demonstrating a keen interest in financial markets and investment strategies. Over time, this individual will progress to a senior analyst role, contributing significantly to the team's investment strategies and manager evaluations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of active investments across various asset classes and strategies, serving as the firm's liaison with investment managers. Responsibilities will evolve with experience and proficiency.
  • Act as the primary backup to the Head of Trading for daily trading operations.
  • Conduct thorough market and manager due diligence for potential investments or terminations under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Engage in meetings with investment managers and prepare detailed notes.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for Investment Team, Committee, and Strategy meetings.
  • Draft memos and presentations to support the firm's investment initiatives and client advisor relationships.
  • Provide operational support for private funds, including managing capital flows and handling investment subscriptions/redemptions as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry, management, and reporting of investment indices and manager performance metrics on a regular basis.
  • Maintain approved manager exposure and attribution data while conducting actionable analyses.
  • Continuously monitor and assess performance drivers, risks, and relevant news concerning covered managers and strategies.
  • Comprehend the investment processes, operations, and structures of investment managers.
  • Utilize proprietary research tools to facilitate ongoing qualitative and quantitative due diligence across diverse investment strategies.
  • Build relationships with industry contacts to enhance due diligence on current and prospective investment opportunities.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new investment opportunities.
  • Regularly communicate with the client service team to provide updates on portfolio investments ahead of client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance or investment analysis.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, economics, and the investment sector.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and process-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with Bloomberg, Orion/Eclipse, Pitchbook, and YCharts.
