Position Summary

The Patient Access Representative serves as the initial point of contact for our patients, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role involves the precise collection and entry of patient registration data, which is essential for the effective processing of services and payment follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the next day's appointments, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate, including eligibility verification and insurance details.
  • Welcome patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Handle incoming phone inquiries with professionalism.
  • Review and confirm necessary documentation with patients to maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collect copayments and outstanding balances efficiently.
  • Execute tasks within the practice management system as directed by the Patient Access Supervisor/Manager.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate processing of patient information.
  • Reconcile daily payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist patients with follow-up appointments and scheduling of necessary tests.
  • Provide patients with required handouts, either in print or through the patient portal.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and manage supply inventory.
  • Travel to other locations as required for coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma is required; additional education is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical insurance processes is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Experience with EMR/PM systems is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Able to think quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in multitasking within a busy setting.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel is necessary.
Additional Information

This role involves a combination of sitting and standing for extended periods, with repetitive hand movements and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
