Role Summary:

The Children and Youth Services division aims to foster improved futures for children, families, and communities through the application of our core values. Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Children and Youth Supervisor, provide comprehensive case management services.
  • Evaluate the safety and welfare of children referred for assistance.
  • Employ a strengths-based methodology to support children and families in skill development and resource coordination.
  • Deliver services in various settings, including homes, schools, and community environments.
  • Collaborate with legal and law enforcement entities as necessary for child safety.
  • Maintain an organized caseload, closing cases as goals are met and risks are mitigated.
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness are essential, as each day presents unique challenges.
  • Receive extensive training to equip staff with the necessary competencies for effective service delivery.
  • Participate in on-call duties and maintain flexible scheduling to meet service needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish positive relationships with children and families.
  • Assess risks and safety for children within assigned caseloads.
  • Collaborate with families to create tailored Family Service Plans that highlight strengths and areas for growth.
  • Identify community resources to support families effectively.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of services provided.
  • Engage with various systems, including legal, educational, and healthcare.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree with at least 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related fields; or two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 along with relevant college coursework; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

This role involves extended periods of computer use in an open office setting, effective communication through virtual platforms, and potential travel in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is required.
