About the Role:
The Children & Youth Services team is dedicated to fostering improved futures for children, families, and communities by integrating our core values. Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Children and Youth Supervisor, the selected candidate will provide comprehensive case management services within the Children and Youth service framework. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating the safety and welfare of children referred for assistance.
- Employing a strengths-based methodology to support children and families in skill development, resource identification, and overall well-being.
- Delivering services in various settings, including homes, schools, and community environments.
- Collaborating with legal and law enforcement entities regarding child safety and welfare, which may involve court testimony.
- Managing a caseload effectively, closing cases as goals are met and risks are mitigated.
This role requires adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness, as no two days are the same. Extensive training will be provided to equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills for success. On-call duties and work outside of standard hours are part of the position, with flexible scheduling available to accommodate these needs.
Essential Functions:
- Establishing positive relationships with children and families.
- Assessing safety and risk factors for assigned cases.
- Collaborating with families to create tailored Family Service Plans that highlight strengths and areas for growth.
- Identifying community resources to support families.
- Documenting services rendered accurately and comprehensively.
- Working with various systems, including legal, educational, and healthcare.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery.
Personal Attributes:
We seek individuals who are independent, tech-savvy, responsive, kind, ethical, motivated, active listeners, lifelong learners, adaptable, confidential, resourceful, and trustworthy.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related fields; OR two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 along with two years of college coursework including the aforementioned credits; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment:
This position involves prolonged periods of computer work in an open office setting, effective communication through virtual platforms, and travel within the assigned region, which may include adverse weather conditions. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds is required.
