POSITION OVERVIEW

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This entry-level professional social services position involves investigating allegations of child maltreatment and/or neglect. Case Managers provide essential support and preventative services to families, maintain accurate agency documentation, and prepare necessary court-related services for children placed outside their home environment. Additionally, Case Managers engage in collaborative planning with families to help them achieve their objectives. The professional relationships formed in this role foster personal and professional growth for both the workers and the families they assist.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time position.
  • Standard working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a one-hour lunch break.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3, along with two years of college coursework including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related fields; or
  • A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in the aforementioned fields and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar role performing paraprofessional case management tasks.
  • Applicants nearing graduation with a qualifying degree/credits will be considered to have met the educational requirements.
Additional Requirements:
  • Current PA residency requirement is waived for this position.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.
Legal Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is mandatory.
  • A conditional job offer will necessitate a drug screening.
  • This position is governed by the Child Protective Services Law, requiring submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports.
