About the Role:
This position involves working under the guidance of the Children and Youth Supervisor to deliver case management services within the Children and Youth service framework. The role requires assessing the safety and welfare of children referred for assistance. Utilizing a strengths-based methodology, caseworkers support children and families in skill development, resource identification, and overall well-being enhancement.
Services may be rendered in various settings, including family homes, educational institutions, and community environments. Caseworkers may also interact with legal and law enforcement entities concerning child safety and welfare, which may involve providing court testimony.
Caseworkers manage their caseloads, closing cases as goals are met and risks are mitigated. Given the dynamic nature of this work, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness are crucial.
Extensive training is provided to equip staff with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective performance. The role may require on-call duties and work outside standard hours, but offers flexible scheduling to accommodate these needs.
This position is part of the County's Children and Youth Services workforce, specifically focused on the secure handling of consumer information in compliance with privacy policies.

- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related fields; OR two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 along with two years of college coursework that includes 12 credits in the aforementioned areas; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education that includes 12 college credits in relevant fields and one year of experience in a similar role.
Work Environment:
This role involves extended periods of computer work in an open office setting, effective communication through virtual platforms, and travel within the assigned region, which may occur in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is required.
