Key Responsibilities
What does a Strategic Account Manager do at JC Ehrlich? This role is pivotal in retaining and expanding the assigned account portfolio by selling unserviced locations and introducing products, services, and solutions tailored to meet customer business objectives.
This position will focus on maximizing our company’s offerings across the customer’s footprint by collaborating closely with our branch structure and their clientele.
Revenue generation will stem from selling additional locations, services, and products to existing clients by implementing strategic account management principles.
This individual will oversee a portfolio valued at over $3M, with an annual growth target exceeding $500k.
Additionally, this role will involve profitably negotiating customer contract renewals, aiming for a 70% retention rate of current contracts each year.
Essential Functions
The responsibilities and essential functions of the Strategic Account Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Growth orientation through leveraging strategic concepts to enhance customer relationships and identify sales opportunities for improved outcomes.
- Developing and executing tailored business plans to uncover growth opportunities and strategically cultivate business.
- Focusing on profitability by utilizing tools to assess profit margins and devising targeted strategies to enhance deal profitability through renewal negotiations and customer engagement.
- Ensuring retention of the existing customer base by proactively negotiating renewals/extensions of agreements.
- Maintaining relationship health through ongoing risk assessments and customer satisfaction evaluations, along with developing action plans to address customer concerns.
Qualifications
What do you need?
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in large account management, sales, or operations.
- Ability to leverage existing data and business intelligence to formulate targeted growth strategies for all clients.
- Focus customer interactions on objective-based discussions using business reviews or other strategic channels to evaluate partnership success and identify expansion opportunities.
- Documenting contract details, contacts, risk assessments, and all sales opportunities in the existing CRM system.
- Utilizing strategic methodologies to assess and enhance existing customer relationships to facilitate growth discussions.
- Employing profitability measurement tools to proactively renew business and enhance profitability.
- Utilizing tools to evaluate relationship health to preemptively address potential risks.
