Job Overview

The Client Relations Manager plays a crucial role in the coordination, planning, and scheduling of freight to ensure optimal truck movement while minimizing unproductive miles. This position encompasses key areas such as Customer Service, Driver Oversight, and Strategic Planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically plans freight and equipment within designated regions or accounts to maximize utilization and profitability while adhering to DOT regulated Hours of Service.
  • Ensures compliance with contract requirements to provide timely delivery services to customers.
  • Promptly addresses service-related issues with customers and escalates concerns to the operations team as necessary.
  • Maintains open communication with drivers, responding to calls, emails, and messages to facilitate effective communication and reduce wait times.
  • Coordinates customer freight shipments, which includes booking freight, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting with rate quotes.
  • Oversees the movement of freight from shipper to receiver.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with assigned customers and within the geographic area.
  • Monitors and communicates all driver freight details to meet customer and carrier specifications.
  • Manages trailer inventory effectively.
  • Collaborates with Driver Managers to synchronize Hirschbach operators' scheduled home time, downtime, current status, and anticipated availability to ensure continuous freight flow.
  • Fosters and maintains professional relationships with Hirschbach operators, team members, and customers.
  • Identifies and communicates any potential routing issues that may affect service delivery.
  • Creates actionable plans to enhance lane profitability and service metrics, updating these plans with any concerns or delays.
  • Completes all assigned account billing documentation accurately.
  • Conducts KPI and other reporting functions as required by the assigned customer.
  • Participates in customer-related meetings and may occasionally travel to customer sites.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, including proactively assisting colleagues in achieving organizational goals.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent, complemented by relevant professional experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Preferred experience in transportation management of at least 5 years.
  • Strong ability to process information with high accuracy and energy.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing workload effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications and adept at navigating multiple software programs.
  • Exhibits a proactive attitude and demonstrates self-motivation and a strong desire to learn in a dynamic and demanding environment.
