We are seeking a Customer Retention Marketing Specialist to contribute to the creation of our highly regarded newsletter, which engages our community of over 1 million subscribers three times a week. This newsletter is filled with top-notch products, brands, and engaging content from around the world. The successful candidate will function as an assistant Editor-in-Chief, ensuring that the right products and stories are showcased effectively through captivating copy, a distinct point of view, and high-quality imagery. The ideal individual is passionate about gear, exceptionally organized, and attentive to detail.

The Customer Retention Marketing Specialist will report to the Retention Marketing Manager within the eCommerce Department. This role is highly visible and requires consistent communication with various departments across the organization, as well as senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the retention marketing program from inception to execution and performance evaluation.
  • Lead a talented team of 6-8 designers in weekly cycles to produce two email campaigns per week and four SMS messages per month, including merchandising, positioning input, stakeholder feedback, and campaign scheduling.
  • Utilize customer insights, data, seasonal merchandise, and personal insights to drive product marketing that resonates with our audience.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that channel merchandising aligns with both company goals and customer preferences.
  • Maintain open communication with campaign managers and key stakeholders throughout the planning and product launch phases.
  • Work alongside the Retention Marketing Manager to identify opportunities for A/B testing to enhance optimization and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes that improve launch strategies and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in email marketing and/or digital merchandising.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with prior project management experience considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with email service providers such as Klaviyo, Bluecore, or Attentive is advantageous.
  • Comfortable using project management tools, with experience in Airtable being a plus.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, particularly Google Docs and Sheets.
