Key Responsibilities

This position is for a seasoned leader in applied science. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced natural language processing and computer vision research to enhance video-centric digital media. You will be responsible for fostering a robust environment for applied science, aimed at attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier talent. Your leadership will guide a team of applied scientists, setting the research agenda, creating forward-looking roadmaps, and effectively communicating these to senior leadership. You will also be tasked with hiring and nurturing applied scientists, expanding the science team to meet the growing demands of our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of direct experience collaborating with engineering teams
  • 7+ years of experience in technical product or program management
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scalability)
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience in owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience managing complex technology projects
  • Experience overseeing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this role ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
