Reports to: Assisted Living Administrator

Position Objective:

The Certified Medication Aide is responsible for delivering non-professional direct care services in accordance with the established care plan, under the supervision of the Administrator or LPN Nurse Manager. This role is essential in ensuring that residents receive support with activities of daily living (ADLs) while fostering a positive and nurturing environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in good standing, complying with all relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and following both oral and written instructions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening, including Tuberculosis testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication supervision as outlined in their Service Plan.
  • Perform tasks as directed by the Nurse Manager, including monitoring vital signs and documenting changes in residents' health status.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Nurse Manager or Administrator immediately and provide necessary first aid.
  • Support the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
  • Monitor and manage medication supplies and report any adverse reactions to the Nurse Manager.
  • Document medication administration accurately in compliance with established policies.
  • Train new staff on current procedures and assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Participate in community activities and ensure the dignity and rights of residents are upheld.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting residents with mobility.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
