Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents, verify identity, and record time of administration.
  • Supervision: Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and assist with daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping tasks.
  • Vital Signs: Obtain and record residents' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and oxygen saturation.
  • Observation: Observe residents for response to medications and report any unexpected reactions.
  • Counseling: Counsel residents on social or other problems and provide input on standards of care.
  • Communication: Communicate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medication administration, vital signs, and other relevant information.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous nursing assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
  • Certification: Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants required.
  • Skills: Ability to read, speak, and write English, and be certified in CPR and first aid.
