Role Objective
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing essential non-professional care to residents under the supervision of the LPN Charge Nurse. This role is vital in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for all residents.
Essential Qualifications
The candidate must hold a valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing, complying with all relevant federal and state regulations. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required, along with the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License, and provide proof of vehicle insurance, adhering to company policies regarding motor vehicle records. A successful completion of a GBI and FBI background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must pass a drug screening and a Tuberculosis test.
Key Responsibilities
The CNA will:
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and dental care.
- Support residents with bowel and bladder functions and prepare them for medical examinations.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in both group and individual activities.
- Monitor and document residents' vital signs and report any changes to the charge nurse.
- Ensure residents' comfort during meals and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and treat all residents with dignity and respect, adhering to Resident's Rights.
- Assist in the proper admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
- Follow established safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Participate in training and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
