Position Overview

The Department is currently seeking candidates for seasonal roles as logic and accuracy testers in preparation for upcoming elections. These positions will assist the Polling Place Operations Division with various election-related tasks, including validating and monitoring reports generated by voting equipment and performing essential maintenance on this equipment. The primary work location will be at the Department's warehouse.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up and testing voting equipment, which may involve lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Operating voting machinery and executing testing and maintenance protocols.
  • Inputting data into a computerized database.
  • Ensuring reports are proofread with complete accuracy.
  • Organizing and archiving reports and documentation.
  • Labeling and tagging equipment appropriately.
  • Providing general administrative support.
  • Assisting with additional warehouse operations, including inventory management and supply organization.
  • Supporting other election-related tasks, which may require travel to various locations.

Work Schedule and Requirements

This is a seasonal role, with the start date dependent on the completion of the hiring process. The position will conclude approximately two weeks after the election, with the exact end date determined by operational needs.

Work hours will fluctuate based on the election cycle, ranging from 20 to 60 hours per week. Most work will occur during standard business hours, but flexibility may be required to meet operational demands. Employees should be prepared to work overtime, including weekends, as necessary.

The work environment is primarily in a warehouse setting, which may have limited temperature control, and may also involve offsite duties. Employees may encounter varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and other environmental factors.

This position is classified as a temporary exempt as-needed role. Employees who have worked more than 1040 hours in a consecutive 12-month period and meet the required work hours are eligible for health coverage and retirement benefits.

Salary Range

The salary for this position ranges from $62,426 to $75,868 annually.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess at least one year of clerical experience, which includes managing records, filing, using office equipment, and engaging in public contact.

Substitution: Completion of an approved clerical training program or relevant coursework may substitute for up to six months of the required experience.
