Position Overview

The Department is currently seeking seasonal Logic and Accuracy Testers to assist in preparation for upcoming elections. These roles will support the Polling Place Operations Division with various election-related tasks, including validating, monitoring, and tracking reports generated by voting equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance on the equipment. The primary work location will be at the Department's warehouse.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Staging and testing voting equipment, which may involve lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Operating voting machines and conducting maintenance and testing procedures.
  • Inputting data into a computer database.
  • Ensuring reports are proofread with complete accuracy.
  • Organizing and filing reports and documentation.
  • Labeling and tagging equipment appropriately.
  • Providing general clerical assistance.
  • Supporting other warehouse operations, including inventory management and supplies organization.
  • Assisting with additional election-related functions as needed.

Work Schedule and Requirements

This is a seasonal role, with the start date dependent on the completion of the hiring process. The position will conclude approximately two weeks after the election, with the exact end date determined by operational needs.

Work hours will vary based on the election cycle, ranging from 20 to 60 hours per week. Most work is expected to occur during regular business hours, but flexibility may be required to meet operational demands. Employees should be prepared to work overtime during the week and on weekends as necessary, with overtime compensated at a higher rate.

The work environment is primarily in a warehouse setting with limited temperature control, but may also include offsite duties. Employees may encounter varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and other environmental factors.

This position is classified as temporary exempt as-needed. Employees who have worked more than 1040 hours in any consecutive 12-month period and whose normal work week is at least 20 hours are eligible for health coverage and retirement benefits. Salary Range

The salary for this position ranges from $62,426 to $75,868 annually.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should possess at least one year of clerical experience, which includes maintaining records, filing, utilizing office equipment, and handling public inquiries.

Substitution: Completion of an approved clerical training program or relevant coursework may substitute for up to six months of required experience.
